Equilibria:
Ruminations on Balance
(2024- )
While completing my residency at the School of Visual Arts (SVA), a reflexive need for reshaping and retuning was underway. Unlike most years-end, where the retrospective and natural progression of practice takes hold, the residency work was hastening, with gusto, a rebirth of attenuation: I was yearning for holistic recalibration. It manifested in the form of works both practically and aesthetically concerned with the notions of lifestyle effects. I found myself working with a brighter headlamp of self-awareness, steeped in an almost desperation of balance, in that of work, lifestyle, thought, and other negotiations of existence. The result, aesthetically at least, is a series of works consumed, holistically and reflexively, with contemporary notions of balance.
